“Our goal at Crescent Moon is to exceed your expectations every single day.”
Dr. Michael R. Zetz, Jr. was raised right here in Charleston. Following the dental road of his father, Dr. Zetz attended Wofford College where he received his BS and then on to MUSC for his DMD. Following MUSC, Dr. Zetz went to Ohio State University Hospital and the James Cancer center to receive a 2 year GPR certificate, including a year as chief resident. During this year, and for the following 3 years Dr. Zetz practiced as a general dentist in both Bexley and Groveport, outside of Columbus, Ohio. Here he worked with some exemplary Pankey dentists who broadened his appreciation for comprehensive interdisciplinary dentistry.
Dr. Zetz carried this knowledge and passion to orthodontic residency at Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education where he received both his orthodontic certificate and a Masters degree while also serving as President of his class.
In 2004 Dr. Zetz opened Crescent Moon Orthodontics both on Daniel Island and in Columbia, SC. Through relationships with some amazing general dentists, here and in Columbia (which included serving as a board member for the Greater Columbia Dental Association), the experience in orthodontics and interdisciplinary care grew even further.
Today, Dr. Zetz is an active member and occasional lecturer in Pankey, Spear, and Seattle Study Clubs. He balances work and family life with his wife Sarah and 4 children: Caleb, McLeod, Hazel and Elias. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, boating, automobilia, cooking, and a good book!
